I ran 1200+ chests at Witmans and on average got 1 gold in 3 chests..90% of those golds were merch food.

Wittman's Folly counts for the chest title?
I thought Shiverpeaks keys didn't make the cut.

Ya, Shiverpeak keys cost 600 gp which is the cut off to count for the title.

Is that a change? I could have sworn they used to be 450.
Or am I just mixed up again?

You used to be able to buy them for that or less from the hordes of 55 monks at droks. Wow i guess they were good for something after all.
I feel for anyone trying to get treasure hunter titles now I really do. It's so much more expensive without the ability to break even on keys by selling crappy golds gained from running with groups sharing the risk of purple chests. I personally don't see the benefit to the community in having the current system, it just seems to punish the poor players and reward the rich, whilst removing chest running as a social activity by and large.
So yes if you've got the cash more power to you and good luck with the title, if not then i don't recommend it.

I know chest runs used to be fun.
Well the part where everyone should type / roll 100 and the lowest number had to open the chest was stupid. Because only 5/8 did it and the loser never wanted to opne it -.-
I think chestrunning is no good for earning money you spend a lot of time running with more or less getting the money for the keys back if you know how to sell your stuff.
Well i'll be happy if i get the title and return a big black zero

Try sixty. Or in the hundreds. Although 90% is rather exaggerated.
My experiences have been around 80% or so.
And yes, I have run a LOT more than six keys
|
Lol not overall, but those 6 dropped my percentage, I was around 80-90%, but lately I get about 60% gold. Maybe I should layoff it :S

I got GMTH in about 3 months (Took me ~300 hours or so) running in Witmans and Gyala Hatchery(this place had more/better rares, but took a little longer, and I was going for speed over loot) but this was months ago, back when you could buy large amounts of Shiver keys from the bots, and when you actually could sell the rares you got, as well as upgrades for a decent amount. Now, its almost impossible to get something to sell, and the upgrades are in the same boat. I usually got a chest every ~1:10 or so. I ended up with about 10,000 chests/ 3300 rares ID'd.
Black Guinevere boasted that he ran ~80+ chests per hour, but never backed it up, so I have no idea if that is true or not.

I have 2500 chests now and 3 storage chars filled with good stuff i need to sell before buying new keys. It's pretty annoying that this title seems to take an eternity
I'd love to go for another title but nothing else seems to be maxable. No PvP titles, no lucky / unlucky, no skill hunter... only friend of the luxon kurzick but i dont think that would be any easier

Wait till you open around 8 thousand of them and all you get is a sea of NON MAX purples. I have to force myself to open chests on my war now so I can finish the dam title. Farm code on chests is just wrong on so many levels when there is a title for opening them.

well the port sledge running is cheap if you wanna grind the title, you can get shiverpeak keys for 450~ea, just go into international droks and type "buy 15 450" and some chinese farmer will sell 15, or however many you want for the price you put, im not sure if the troll farmers are still there but when i last got keys there was always a few other people doing the same thing.

But so far i get oly about 30-40 chests an hour with 25%-30% gold chests. I heard people talking about 70-80 chests an hour or 50% golds. Did this change with the recent updates? I don't see any chance of finding more than one chest per minute (maybe i just don't know the good places)
I know there are some grandmaster tresure hunters around. How did you achieve the title ( i guess it didn't take 400h+. It will for me if i go on like that)
Source of wisdom is even harder i guess
can someone tell me where he made 70-80 chests per minute?
|
I dunno about that money but ill tell you a good guide to one place....
The last town(last mission) in factions, ask for a chest running group and buy u can buy 4 but i bought 2 to start, than you go inside the town and sell each gold for as many as 2 keys cost in all than you buy keys with that money so through out the whole time you spent little money and only on the first title......

So i tried now:
47 chests per hour
37% gold
So it would take ~210 hours to complete the title.
70-80 chests per hour is absolutely unrealistic.
/EDIT: Black Guinevere was the guy whos account was "hacked" and his char deleted? Too many key logging bots maybe

they dont have to drop gold to count towards title. As long as its a high end chest it count purp or gold

I've opened 50 chests and have only got 3 or 4 purples. So yes it IS 90% at least for me. Oh and when I first started i got 2 purples in my 1st two keys.

I'm curious... Why do people buy golds for 1K to identify for their Wisdom title?
Why don't people go to low end areas that sell keys for 40g each, get golds from about 20% of the chests there and end up only paying about 200g per Gold item instead?
Am I missing something?

If u have maxed out your Treasure Hunter title then u normally have identified about 3000-4000 golds...
So u have to buy the rest or farm another 20.000 chests^^
What do u think is better?
